I'm a 61 year old woman, married with no children. In the past I've had lucid dreams - where at some point I realized I was dreaming, which was an incredibly empowering feeling. But last night I had the opposite. At first, I found myself traveling - I went to a house, waiting for my older brother to pick me up. The house seemed to belong to friends of my brother. When he arrived, there were lots and lots of people - some family, some their friends, but most people I didn't know at all. We were all going to another house to watch a football game, something like that - I wasn't really interested in going but felt obligated. There was a lot of activity and confusion, which is typicaly for my brother, but finally I got my luggage loaded into a car and off we went. We came to another house - this was all in a very suburban types of neighborhoods, ones you would find in any town. Once we got to the house, it was like a party - lots of people, food and drinks. I started looking at my phone for whatever reason but I wasn't engaging with people (typical introvert behavior). Suddenly I found myself entirely alone. This is when things got strange. I walked through the house, but couldn't find anyone. Then I walked outside - the sky was heavy with rain clouds, and it looked to be around sunset. The clouds were deep purple, tinged with orange from the setting sun - it was honestly very beautiful. But it felt SO REAL. I stood there, looking at the horizon over all those other houses, looking at the amazing sky, and I said, out loud: "is this real? Am I really here, or is this a dream?" At that moment, I couldn't tell what was real and what wasn't. I wasn't afraid - in fact, I felt as though I could break through a metaphysical wall. Like I could break through reality in some way. Then I heard voices so I went back to the house. There were some people there and I asked, where is everyone? They laughed and said, downstairs in the basement watching the game. They pointed to a door I had not seen before, and I realized everyone was down there. Then I woke up.
